うみねこのなく頃に - happiness of marionette lyrics

Oho~ another Umineko no Naku Koro Ni song translated~

While I had planned to translate other songs.. I couldn’t find the lyrics for them. I’ll keep on looking but, [happiness of marionette] caught my attention because the available translations were incomplete. As I wanted to know the song’s meaning, I went ahead and translated it myself. The song is actually a pretty good window to Eva-Beatrice’s mentality in comparison to Oct. 1986 Eva Ushiromiya. Well, it’s more or less Eva-Beatrice’s notable image song after all~

Ah.. and sorry for the numerous notes I scattered (in gray) throughout the lyrics. While I’m a amateur, I’m concerned whether my translation contains a understandable and accurate meaning to what the song sings of. I do hope it helps in some way though~

tooi hi anata to tsubureta sora
On the distant day, the you who is with the shattered sky

* Other common meanings for tsubureta included “to go bankrupt” and “useless.”
“Smash,” the intended meaning, lacked fluidity so I went for a more elegant sounding synonym.

届くと思ってた届かない声
todoku to omotetta todokanai koe
Reached out to the undelivered voice you once remembered

あの日のされば遠くに消える
ano hi no sareba tooku ni kieru
That day, in that case*,  vanish far away

* The kanji provided didn’t link with “sareba” so I replaced it with a kana. However, the meaning(s) for “sareba,” at most, is archaic. Fortunately, the dictionaries I used had the meaning, but it’s noted as archaic. Perhaps, at the time, it was still used…?

闇の夜の切り裂かれた日々
yami no yo no kirisakareta hibi
As you tear to pieces the darkness of those days

どうでもいいとわけ透けたいね
doudemo ii to wake suketai ne
Inconsequentally*, I want the meanings to be known

* Ahaha there’s many meanings for this colloquial phrase. It can also mean “anything that you do is OK” or “not of worth to worry about” or “indifferent” or “trivial.”

ここにある潰れた思いを
koko ni aru tsubureta omoi o
Right here is where your memories are shattered
